James E. Martin (Jim) founded Arbor in 1998, served as President and Chief Executive Officer until 2015 and retired in December 2016 after 43 years in financial services. Active in the community, Jim has served as Chairman of: Arbor Acres Retirement Community, Audubon Society of North Carolina, Forsyth Country Club, Reynolda Rotary Club, Senior Services of Forsyth County, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, UNC School of the Arts Foundation, Winston-Salem State University Foundation and Wake Forest University MBA Alumni Council. Jim and Mary Allen remain active in the community after retirement, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchild.

Erika joined the Arbor family in 2018 after serving as a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor at The Private Bank at Wells Fargo. Erika also served as a Trust Officer at Associated Bank and as an Associate Attorney at Davis & Kuelthau, S.C., both in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Norbert College and her Juris Doctor from Marquette University. She is both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a CERTIFIED EXIT PLANNING ADVISOR™ . Since adopting Winston-Salem as her hometown, Erika has enjoyed being active in the community, serving on several nonprofit boards. Her involvement has included serving as President of The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad, Founding President of Triad Women’s Club, Founding President of West Forsyth High School Titan JROTC Booster Club, Vice President of Old Salem Museum & Gardens, and as a board member for The Enrichment Center, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, and The Shallowford Foundation. She is the co-founder of Thrive Community, a nonprofit seeking to provide opportunities for independent living for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Erika and her husband, Scott, are the proud parents of Noah, Luke, Abigail, and Levi. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, gardening, baking, and supporting her children in their academic and extracurricular endeavors.
Scott joined Arbor in 2006, earning his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ credentials with the firm, and was named the firm’s President in 2022. Previously, he held corporate finance and relationship manager roles with Wachovia Wealth Management, a treasury and strategic planning analyst post with First Union National Bank and a regional loan officer position with Merrill Lynch Credit Corporation. Scott graduated with distinction from Flagler College in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and completed the full-time MBA program at Wake Forest University in 2000. Scott has enjoyed serving on numerous boards and has been an active volunteer throughout his career. He currently volunteers in the soup kitchen at Samaritan Ministries and at River Oaks Community Church. Scott’s interests include pickleball, golf, cycling and travel. He and his wife, Mary, have three sons and one daughter.
Jenna joined Arbor in 2013 as part of the Operations team after working as a Senior Claims Adjuster for over fifteen years in Winston-Salem. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University in 1993 and her MBA from Pfeiffer University in 1998. Currently, Jenna is a member of the Charity League of Lexington where she has served as Treasurer and Holiday House Chair. She and her husband, Scott, live in Lexington and are the proud parents of two daughters who completed their degrees at their parents’ alma maters of Appalachian State University and UNC Chapel Hill. Outside of work, Jenna enjoys trips to the beach and mountains, attending artisan craft shows to support small business owners and watching just about any movie.
Judy joined Arbor in August of 2011 as the Office Administrator. Prior to Arbor, Judy has worn many different hats throughout her career and has lived in several different places. A native of Ontario, Canada, she moved to the U.S. in 1998 when her husband’s job brought them first to Tucson, Arizona, and then to Apex, North Carolina. Judy started her own cleaning business after her daughter started school. Her business grew over the years, but she decided to leave it to pursue her passion in real estate. She worked with an independent firm for several years, then with Keller Williams Realty, until she joined Arbor. Outside of work, Judy is a part-time fitness instructor and volunteers as an event coordinator for her Homeowners Association, where she puts together and hosts their annual Holiday Craft Fair. She loves the sport of hockey, which may be mandatory since she is Canadian. Judy also enjoys baking, especially special birthday desserts for her co-workers. Judy and her husband, Russ, live in Clemmons with their daughter and first granddaughter.
Paige was Arbor’s first employee following the firm’s founding in 1998 and has been instrumental in Arbor’s operations, development and continued innovation. She was named a principal and Chief Operating Officer of the firm in 2016. For Paige, the relationships built with clients and co-workers make Arbor feel more like family than a job. Paige worked for one year at Holden Mickey, Inc. before transitioning to Arbor. She sharpened her customer service skills early on working during high school at Brookridge Retirement Community. Paige then enjoyed her pirate years at East Carolina University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Services in 1996. Paige loves being with her family, reading and volunteering in her church. She looks forward to volunteering again with the Stokes County Arts Council once her children are independent. Paige and her husband, Rob, a middle school teacher, live in King with their two wonderful daughters, a high schooler and one carrying on the East Carolina tradition.
April joined Arbor in 2005, having worked previously for a supply chain software company in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She became a principal of the firm and was named Chief Compliance Officer in 2016. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics from The Pennsylvania State University in 1997. She and her husband, David, live in Winston-Salem with their son and daughter. In her spare time, April enjoys the outdoors, reading and watching her children participate in various activities.
Bill came to Arbor in 2011 after serving in a number of commercial and retail leadership roles over 11 years with BB&T. He earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Economics from UNC Chapel Hill in 2000 and graduated from BB&T’s Management Development Program in 2001. After joining Arbor, he earned and now maintains the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Bill currently serves on the boards of Arbor Acres, Old Salem and the N.C. Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Winston-Salem. He has previously served on the boards of Centenary United Methodist Church, Winston-Salem Symphony, Summit School and Kaleideum. In his spare time, Bill enjoys fly fishing, golf, and travel. He and his wife Elizabeth are the proud parents of one son and two daughters.
Scott serves his clients and is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for the firm. Prior to joining Arbor in 2003, he worked for Wachovia Corporation for 12 years in several leadership positions in risk management and asset management. Scott graduated Summa Cum Laude from Duke University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies. He is a CFA® Charterholder and CFP® Certificant. Scott currently serves on the boards of Creative Corridors Coalition, Northwest North Carolina Community Foundation, Piedmont Federal Savings Bank and UNC School of the Arts Foundation. Scott is an Eagle Scout, an avid golfer and skier. He and his wife, Greer, have one daughter, Emmie.
